This portal provides handouts and training information related to the Early Intervention Fidelity Coaching Training.


In preparation for the live fidelity coach training, participants are expected to familiarize themselves with the handouts and complete the learning module. The first three lessons are asynchronous and should be completed before the first scheduled sycnronous meeting.

Part I: Interview

Sign up for a scheduled interview time. Interviews will last 30 minutes.

Part II: FIP-EI Video Analysis

 This section of the competency exam requires you to watch a video, complete the FIP-EI, enter the FIP-EI ratings into the on-screen link, and answer two questions at the end of the survey (List the areas of practice you would coach this practitioner and how would you start the coaching conversation). Please allow 1-1.5 hours to complete this activity. You will not be able to start and stop the video. Make notes on your paper FIP-EI so that you will have the data you need to enter the checklist ratings.

PART III: Coaching Log Analysis

This activity of the competency exam requires you to download the coaching log in the lesson (from your email), analyze it as the fidelity coach, and provide the coachee with feedback in the notes column. When completed, email the log to Dathan.Rush@dhhs.nc.gov. Follow the link (https://www.research.net/r/FCICompExam) to answer two questions (On what topics would you coach the coach? and how would you begin the conversation.

Objectives

Participants are expected to:

  • Develop awareness of the early intervention tools to which partipants will be exposed during the Early Intervention Fidelity Coaching Certification training.
  • Describe the Fidelity in Practice for Early Intervention tool and its purpose.
  • Analyze and evaluate practitioners' use of early intervention practices, including natural learning environment practices, resource-based practices, family-centered practices, and a coaching interaction style.
  • Demonstrate coaching characteristics while coaching a practitioner on his/her use of evidence-based early intervention practices.
